Welcome to the web site of JP Pollak, software/ usability consultant and PhD student in Information Science at Cornell University. I work and conduct research in the area of Human-Computer Interaction, dealing with information visualization, mobile applications, and modeling for complex data problems in health care and the life sciences. My current research interest lies in designing mobile social technologies that improve health or encourage healthy behaviors.

This site may grow over time or it may not, depending largely on response and traffic. I'll probably be adding a blog of some form in the near future, as there seems to be a lack of strong commentary in many of the areas in which I'm currently interested. Be sure to check back if you think we share some of the same interests and you care what I have to say about them. I've added a link to my photography site; I'm not a professional by trade or anything like that, but I shoot a lot of photos, and some of them turn out well and people buy them.

Note! If you're here right now, you'll find I've still got some work to do on the site, but feel free to check out everything I've got up so far. My old site was so badly neglected and out-dated that even this partially functional iteration was better than the alternative.
